Wealden's router cutters used on superyacht

Wealden recently supplied a selection of router cutters to a long-standing customer involved in the construction of the superyacht Vava II.  Built entirely in Plymouth at an alleged cost of more than £100m, the vessel is the largest private motor yacht ever constructed in Britain.

The vessel took more than 200 craftsmen over two years to complete and was christened by Devonport Yachts on 10th September with sea trials taking place in October.

Workpiece grip blocks now in stock at Wealden

Wealden have added to their routing accessory range an innovative workpiece grip and support product called Loc Blocks.

These anti-vibration, non-slip and non-marring rubber pads lift the workpiece from the bench and are ideal for sanding, drilling, routing and finishing.  Single blocks can be placed at each corner of the material or locked together for smaller projects.

Wealden add three-flute solid carbide rougher cutters to spiral ranges

Wealden now stock a new range of high quality micro-grain solid carbide rougher upcut spirals. 
 
Roughing cutters are designed for high feed rates on CNC routers in dense materials such as hardwoods and plywood, when surface finish is not important. The rougher bit makes the first cut, followed by a second cut using a profile type tool.
 
These cutters will produce a rippled edge to the cut and are extremely quiet and smooth in operation, even with heavy cuts and high feed rates.

New range of aluminium composite cutters added to Wealden's catalogue

Just added to Wealden's online range of router bits are cutters for aluminium composite materials with a polyethylene core, as those used in the signmaking, exhibition and shopfitting industries and for building cladding.

The range consists of two different V-groove cutter angles and a choice of three shank sizes.  All are available to buy on line.
